When the man got his 200 pounds, but as a result his son died from a machine. The company paid Mr. white.  Also, when Mrs. White wishes his son alive, the son comes back as a zombie. Mr. White had to wish it away so that mrs, white wont get scared of him.

  1. Describe some of the ways in which Ernest Hemingway uses inference to tell the story of “Hills Like White Elephants”. Use examples from the text.

The man wants Jig to get an abortion. I came up with this because the man says, “ Its not really an operation at all. I know you wouldn’t mind it, Jig, its just to let the air in”

Also, I knew that the man and girl loved each other. I know this because the man said, “I love you now. You know I love you.” I also inferred that they were together because she was pregnant and they loved each other.

  1. In “Hills Like White Elephants”, we learn that the couple is discussing the possibility of an abortion. Do you feel that the woman has already made her decision prior to the conversation? What evidence do you have to support this claim?

No, she didn’t make her mind up before the conversation. At first the girl is strongly against it. Then as the man is talking to her about it, she gives in. Then at the end she decides to get one. She went into the conversation against it and then she gives into the man’s wishes.
